Time & Location

Hammock Wellness Centre, Eptakomis 1, Agios Athanasios 4105, Cyprus

About the event

Rebozo massage is a traditional technique that works with the body through rhythmic

movement and gentle traction. It supports lymphatic flow, mobilizes joints, releases

tension in muscles and tissue, and restores a deep sense of ease. Many clients

describe the experience as reminiscent of being held — evoking a sense of returning to

the womb, and emerging renewed.

While Rebozo is most widely known in the context of pregnancy and postpartum

support, in this workshop you will learn a full-body protocol adapted for people of all

genders, body types, and therapeutic needs.

What You Will Learn

• The roots of rebozo: history, cultural significance, and its practical applications.

• Understanding the rebozo: types, sizes, materials, and how to choose the right one.

• Safety essentials: indications, contraindications, and precautions to work safely.

• Techniques:

● Correct working posture, body weight distribution, and hand position.

● Basic massage strokes for the head, chest, hips, knees, and feet.

● Working with the rebozo in seated, standing and lying positions.

● Adapting techniques for various body types and needs.

• Hands-On Practice: each participant will give and receive sessions to gain confidence

and experience.

Rebozo scarfs will be provided for training, and can be purchased from the instructor.

Schedule:

Morning Practice 9:00-12:00

Lunch break 12:00-13:00

Afternoon Practice 13:00-16:00

PRICING:

  • Early Bird: until 15/7 - Deposit €111 & Remaining Balance €259 to be paid first day of class in cash or via revolut 1 day before.

  • General Admission: After 15/7 - Deposit €132 & Remaining Balance €308 to be paid first day of class in cash or via revolut 1 day before.

Please bring:

● Comfortable clothing that doesn't restrict movement. For instance, leggings or

soft pants and a t-shirt or longsleeve. Avoid loose or oversized clothes like harem

pants to prevent tangling, and overly tight leggings that strongly compress the

body — we want to observe the natural muscular response to Rebozo work.

● Warm socks for comfort.

About teacher

Aya is a touch therapist teaching and practicing primarily in Germany and the Czech Republic. She has trained internationally across a range of wellbeing modalities, and studied Rebozo with teachers who trained directly in Mexico within the living tradition. Over the last 5 years her practice has centered on Rebozo massage and traditional Mexican closing ceremony — both rare offerings in the European context.

She is a licensed massage and wellness practitioner in the Czech Republic and is legally authorised to provide professional training and certification programs.

Aya is passionate about sharing these tools with both practitioners and non-professionals alike. Her approach is grounded in anatomy and physical principles while remaining open to the less tangible dimensions of the body. For her, being a therapist is not about having all the answers — it is about being fully present and creating space for the body to release, restore, and find its own balance.
